The Siren’s Call: Reclaiming Your Voice Through Magick

There’s a reason the sea has always been associated with mystery, danger, and raw power and the siren at its center knows all three intimately.

She is not afraid to sing.
And neither are you.
But if you’ve ever felt like your voice was too strange, too spiritual, too “much”… you’re not alone. Many witches find themselves whispering their truth instead of declaring it, not because they lack conviction, but because they’ve been taught to hide their magick away like a secret treasure chest beneath the tide.
I know what it’s like to be silenced, not by force, but by fear.
Fear that your truth will be used against you.
Fear that your beliefs will alienate you.
Fear that being seen for who you are will cost you too much.
During a custody battle from my first divorce, my witchcraft practice was brought up in court, weaponized by someone who didn’t understand it. I’ve had people scoff at my path, thinking witchcraft was just a TV gimmick or a phase. I’ve sat across from my Baptist mother, feeling like I had to make my spirituality smaller just to keep the peace.
But every time I chose silence to make others comfortable, I lost a piece of myself.
What Is Voice Magick?

Voice magick isn’t about shouting. It isn’t about having the loudest opinion in the room.
It’s about speaking your truth with clarity and alignment.
To me, voice magick is authenticity. It’s not following a scripted chant unless it feels true. It’s letting your words rise up from your body and spirit, raw and real. It’s a whispered prayer, a soft song, or a full-throated invocation under the moon.
It’s not about performance, it’s about power.
And once I started speaking my truth more openly, something shifted. The people who couldn’t accept me? They faded. And in their place came those who truly saw me, fellow witches, soulful women, quiet rebels who had also been waiting to be heard.
But What If I’m Still Scared?
It’s okay to be scared. It’s okay if your voice shakes.
It’s okay if all you can do today is hum softly while you stir your tea.
Start there.
Let your voice affect the energy around you, even in the smallest ways. Sing in the shower. Whisper your intentions while you light a candle. Speak to the wind. Let your vibration ripple into the world.
And remember, speaking your truth doesn’t guarantee people will understand you. That’s not what voice magick is for. It’s not a spell to make others agree with you. It’s a spell that summons the ones who were always meant to find you.
Your Voice Is Not a Chain. It’s Wings.
You were not meant to be bound by your silence. You were meant to soar on your sound.
So if you're holding back, just a little, start today. Speak to your altar. Sing to the ocean. Tell your story to the stars. Let your truth come in waves, steady and rising.

Because the world doesn’t need another polished, polite silence.
It needs your voice.
Raw. Real. Resonant.
The kind of voice that calls to others across the sea and says,
"I’m here. I’m magick. And I’m no longer afraid to say so."
Blessed Be,
